REB began this gallery on February 18, 2013.  HOPEFULLY, it will contain photographs submitted by others.  As possible, I will caption each with locality information and the photographer's name.

Picture
A fabulous photograph of differential weathering on Cape Sebastian, OR, by Bill Ferry (Harbor, OR). This is a fractured, hummocky cross-bedded, Cretaceous littoral marine sandstone. It is part of a transgressive sequence that begins as shallow water conglomerates and ends as deep water turbidites. After the rock was lithified, tectonic contraction uplifted, tilted, fractured, and faulted the formation. More of these to come!
